Fun Friday in 3/4W

After our successful talent day, the children from Mrs Waghorn’s Year 3/4 class decided that they would like the opportunity to do more cooking. Children asked their parents for permission to bring in their favourite recipe and the needed ingredients. A rota is now up and running with two children every Friday getting to cook their tasty treats.

Today was the turn of Connie and Neeve. Connie choosing to make marbled muffins and Neeve Chocolate peanut brownies. Both girls brought in what they needed and along with the support of Mrs Bowen they got to work. The smell wafting the corridors was delicious.

Breakfast Club Birthday

Mount Street Junior School’s breakfast club got together this morning to celebrate their 6th successful year. The birthday bash was well attended with 35 children ready to try what was on the menu. Mrs Thomas and the other staff had asked the children in the run up to today’s event what new fruits and bread they would like to try. There were many new and exciting tastes they wanted to explore. Grapefruit and apricot were firm favourites as was the pain au chocolat.

After the children sat together and enjoyed their feast, they played the usual games on offer as well as a balloon game and the fruit salad challenge. In order to win, the children were timed and had to match the correct fruits with its name.
